Popular Post boopdeep Posted April 1, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 1, 2019 This beauty was gifted to me by the always generous @Fatshotbud 898s are my favorite cigars, but it’s probably been over a year since my last one. @Fatshotbud recently gave me a Partagas de Partagas No. 1, which is also a Lonsdale with similar 898 characteristics. The format just feels elegant to me. The cigar starts off with a serious punch. The initial 5-10 mins retrohale is very spicy, making it almost too painful. But then the cigar mellows out. Interestingly, this 898 started out with some orange flavor that turned to lemon and lemon zest. I had never got citrus in an 898 before. The spicyness moved to cinnamon and then by about half way through was overshadowed by cream and leather. The cigar ended with strong cream and leather and a slight cocoa near finish. The cigar had some interesting movement from starting off like a spice bomb, moving to a flavor bomb, and then becoming very mellow just past the halfway point. It was an interesting smoke that I give 91-92 points. Thankgs again @Fatshotbud! 8 1

Kaptain Karl Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Interesting! Maybe the newer releases are smoking better now that they seem to be toned down on the power?
