Popular Post David88 Posted March 22, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 22, 2019 The weather is starting to warm up in Cairo so an Elegantes and some beer sounded like a great way to spend a Friday afternoon (the sangria was for the other half). A good looking stick that didn’t have any noticeable soft spots. It seemed generally well constructed as have the others I have had from the box previously. They have all seemed to feel strangely light in hand though? Oh well! Once lit and when the burn had reached the main body of the cigar it produced a good amount of smoke and had a great draw. I didn’t cut too much to make sure the draw wasn’t too loose once it had got into full swing. The first third had a good flavour - cream, wood and a floral note although the finish was very short. Definitely light bodied. The second third had a similar flavour with just a slight increase in body. The finish remained very short. The final third was medium bodied. The cream flavour dropped off and a slight pepper came in. Each one I’ve had from this box has been pretty consistent. Overall it was a pleasant smoke but unremarkable. These don’t seem to get a lot of love on the forum and I can see why. They are well priced as a LCDH release but still have a mark up over regular production. While I have enjoyed the ones I have had so far, I would still pick an epicure 1 or Hoyo DC over these. It’s still nice to see an unusual Vitolo being released though! Final score - 88 6
