Popular Post HDGSN
Partagas Presidente EAG MAR 14 If every box of these was like this one, this would quickly replace the Shorts as my 2nd favorite Partagas (behind the 8-9-8, duh!). This box has been smoking so well, but each stick has been a wild card of flavors. Each one coming out with something different - kind of like tasting through single barrel bourbons. Was the change in blend happening around this time? I understand these had some down years and have had a recent comeback with a weaker blend. I paired this with a Bearded Iris Denali Vision Hazy IPA. Bearded Iris is a craft brewery in Nashville that has been churning out some of the best IPAs at the moment, especially hazy and double IPAs. Cold draw - bitter strong black coffee, some green apple and sour tobacco 1st third - black coffee and sourdough. German chocolate cake with extra coconut. Coming out hot with my typical Partagas flavors 2nd third - Tremendous spiced cake, monkey bread (!!!) and leather Last third - Brown sugar pecans, leather, sourdough, mud, barrel char Body seemed medium all the way through whenever I was sitting down, which was strange because this box has been full on need-a-full-stomach strength. But, that strength hit whenever I would stand up to play with my pup and I would get a light headed nicotine blast. This was the best cigar I have had so far this year. Big swings and surprises in flavor. Smoke time - 60min 94/100

Someone recently responded to me here on another thread that the blend was apparently changed and recently these have been more medium to under medium. These 2014s are the only ones I have right now, and I have not had a recent one.
