A la carte review: JUL 16 Fonseca No. 1

Recommended Posts

My first time smoking one of these. The appearance is fantastic with a nice oily sheen and good aroma at cold. Seems to be rolled well for the most part but there is one small soft spot.

Upon lighting it up there was notes of vanilla, toasted wheat and floral with white pepper fairly heavy on the palette surprisingly but it subsided as I got deep into the 1st third.

2nd third and the floral notes remind me of a combination of violet and lavender, vanilla and toasted wheat continue. The white pepper drops off and a buttercream note pops in.

Final third and much of the same as the 2nd third. Not very complex but doesn't need to be. It was very enjoyable and will be a mainstay in my humidor. Draw was perfect but the burn was a bit wonky and hard to keep lit. In hindsight I should have dry boxed it as it seemed a touch too humidified.
