Popular Post Akela3rd Posted December 25, 2018 Popular Post Posted December 25, 2018 I got this cigar from Rob & Co. as a prize in the 48 North Comp a while back and have been itching to spark it up. Bailed out to the garden at the in-laws' to get away from the squabbling after Xmas lunch. Peace at last... with only the faint murmurings inside of an argument about the best washing up method to distract me. Which I can easily ignore. Coffee to accompany. Beautifully constructed, nice draw and a faint barnyard aroma pre-light. Strong from the outset, not surprising for a Punch, and a good post meal choice it seems. Dark cocoa, oaky and a hint of sweetness. Hint of licorice comes and goes. This is an excellent cigar. The cocoa turns to a burn coffee, the oak recedes but the sweetness stays - like a proper Italian espresso. The licorice is a constant flavour, underpinning the coffee pleasantly. Quite an unusual combination but really effective. White pepper comes in towards the end and the smooth creamy thickness of the smoke coats my mouth. Bloody marvellous way to spend an hour. Properly chilled out I head back to the bear pit... Happy Christmas all round. Sent from my ActionMan walkie-talkie 4 1
