Popular Post Wilzc Posted November 16, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 16, 2018 Pale Colorado Claro Cuban looking wrapper on this cigar First puffs cedar. Light wood. Thick dense white smoke. Sweetness comes in soon after, sort of cane sugar sweetness. Abit of that dried grass and hay. By mid first third some burnt coffee comes through and i am taken aback. Then it disappears. Wow that was nice? Swigs of sparkling manuka honey (COMVITA's Wildlands Honey, generously mixed into a glass of San Pellegrino sparkling) really refreshes the palate and pronounces the light hay honey sweetness of the cigar. Any sort of earthiness also creates and interesting mix with the slight sourness of the manuka. Second third of the cigar gets darker and approaches medium body, almost. Mostly earth with a light light whiff of coffee. Grass and hay always at the background. Aromas from the footsmoke is glorious stuff. This is a complex cigar with nuances that fleets in and out. Last time I had a cigar this complex was the Le Hoyo Des Dieux. Still, because it never approaches medium, it’s a cigar to be smoked in isolation for full effect. Entering the final 3rd. A little sandalwood appears. Profile is very very Cohiba at this moment. Pepper appears slightly. Darker flavors with the body finally hitting medium. Thick sour cream, sweet sandalwood. Grass. Hay. A tinge of pepper at the back of my throat. Finish is long with some coffee just about ghosting in the background. I finished my honey so it’s just sparkling San pallegrino for now. Final Thoughts: 88-90 rated cigar. Its complex and enjoyable, but at the same time.. maybe a little 'timid'? I seem to always want more out of it but it never gets there. Final smoke time: 80 mins 6
mbflash80 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Nice review Wilson...having only smoked a couple of these I feel like they need some time...mine have been nicotine bombs which is quite different from your experience.
Wilzc Posted November 16, 2018 Author Posted November 16, 2018 Hmmm wow nicotine bombs would have been quite interesting. Cohiba with that punch of a Bolivar maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mbflash80 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 I kind of pigeonholed it as a supercharged PSD4...it was a good cigar that I think will get better 1
