Can I use distilled water instead of PC solution on the xikar humi store pucks ? Can’t get my humidor above 62%, would like to be at 65% RH. I don’t want to use green foam and like the idea of xikar humi store, just want to bring up RH a bit. I live in S Nevada, so it’s extremely dry here.

Used those when i first started, yes you can but i seemed to have to refill them more often when using water vs the pg solution.  Xikar will release humidity till it reaches 70% rh not the 65% your looking for.  I wouldn't recommend the xikar due to the fact that it only releases humidity and doesn't abosorb so there will be fluxuations in Rh. Honestly Boveda is all i use in my humidors, Nevada is dry so i'd toss in a couple extra packs.

Boveda or beads are the way forward

This year I seriously got back into cigars and decided to go ahead and try Bovedas. After almost 20 years trying to keep the damn RH at least around 60 and overshooting and messing around and forgetting to refill during the winter and all that.

I really don't know how I lived without them.

It's the next best thing to living in a place with natural 65rh 65f all the time.

Thinking back, it feels like going from dialup internet to broadband back in the day.

Couldn't agree more, I tried them all:  beads, gels, sponges, etc...  Bovedas are worth it because they are no brainer, easy-to-use, flawless.  I stopped bothering with hygrometers in all my humidors now because I trust the bovedas.  I do check in on them every now and then by moving around the hygrometers that I have just to double check periodically, but they have always been 64-66% using 65% bags.
