encephalization Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Smoked a 2014 Monte today that had some odd ash throughout. I've seen these "egg" looking white things before but its been a while and I finally took a picture. Is this common? What are causing these features (or are they random in your experience?)? mkz Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Did you use a lighter to correct the burn during smoking? High heat tends to cause those "bubbles".

This was at least 30 minutes after light up, no touch ups required. Tro det eller ej. It might look like it was relight but I smoked this without any real burn issues (and I couldn't find anything negative to the flavors at this stage of the cigar).

I was about to say this normally happens when I retouch the cigar and don't ash to relight. Very strange this happened from normal burn...
Philski Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 I often get something similar, although smaller. Have always presumed they are oil pockets/spots.
