Popular Post Onelove Posted May 13, 2018 Popular Post Posted May 13, 2018 My last one from two boxes I bought separately a few years ago. This box was the from the PCC aged program through this forum and the other had been stored by a local b&m by a manager I’m now friends with. Playing Tetris in a 250L coolidor earlier in the week I noticed this stick, alone in its box, I had forgotten it was there. It seemed to be whispering “smoke me, I’m ready” but i had daddy duties (reading to my five year old) to attend to and promptly replaced it. Two days later I saw the 06-08 review comp and couldn’t wait! Tonight I slipped the little gold covering off and inhaled, fantastic. Sweet tobacco and very subtle to no barnyard. The nicest cigar I’ve ever held, dare I say sexy, not in a phallic way, (not there’s anything wrong with that) but like when you travel to an island and enjoy gazing at the local ladies. This may be because I mostly smoke mid level cigars now. Upon lighting I was reminded of a year or two ago when I smoked through nearly a whole box of racf’s in a month. No similarity in flavour or aroma but the refinement of age was once again intoxicating. Perhaps I should revisit The Graduate. There wasn’t much evolution so the review is halves and not thirds. The first inch was white pepper and sweet tobacco, with the rest of the first half maintaining tobacco and the faintest hints of paprika and sugar. Retrohaling is the only time I pickup the pepper now though barely present. Subtle but very enjoyable. After 90 minutes it’s coming to an end. The backbone of tobacco with still faint paprika and sugar flavours hasn’t really changed only the addition of what I perceive to be nuances of old leather. After smoking this aged cigar I remembered how when this box first arrived they were like tent pegs and my other box felt better. Of course I went through the other box pretty quickly as I’m a sucker for lcdh blends and was already smashing boxes of epi de luxe, royal robustos and any others I could get my hands on. This box just kept getting rotated to the back only losing one every once in a while. Glad I did as this has been almost as good as the last sir winston I enjoyed, only wish my review could have done it justice like one of polar bears old reviews. Paired with Woodford reserve double oaked and Glenfarclas 15. As I nub this I thank you for reading. 11
