Sorry for a more sombre topic.

Recently, a very good friend of mine has passed away from cancers [the universe in its idiocy, gave him 2 of the rarest forms of cancer in the world] + (FU cancer!), leaving behind his wife and 2 sons. He was only 38 years old.

I will be attending his funeral to say my final goodbyes to my brother.

However, this has also questioned my (limited) time here is this fair earth and my own mortality.

If you can get your affairs in order, what would you like to have your friends and family smoke and drink in your wake.
Would you provide it or have it buried / smoke / poured with you on the road to the spiritual unknown?

If it is not you but another family member or friend, what would you pick to reminisce about the good times you had together over a drink?

My choices:

I would provide to the surviving friends in my wake:

Drink - Zacarpa XO
Smoke - HdM Des Dieux

Optional:
Food - American Styled BBQ
Music: Jazz

Also, just reading this again, I guess this is in a similar vein as El Prez's posting on what to smoke with a missile coming towards you.

Sorry to hear that Jason. My condolences :(

If it was me leaving this world. I would only really like my friends that enjoy cigars - to actually smoke from my collection (whatever is left). I do have some very special cigars that would definitely be given to particular people. Of course my non-smoking family are welcome to smoke too if they so desire. Oh and plenty of food and aged wine to complement the smoke. Then some Sautter Cognac as a final goodbye to finish off the night. Hopefully there will be a picture of me in my Fez so everyone can toast to me and have a laugh (at me)!

If it was someone else close to me. I would definitely smoke or drink what they enjoyed most! In memory of them.

Not to be a negative Nancy here, but I would be cautious smoking at the wake of someone who died from cancer
Regardless of what kind of cancer eventually caused the need for a wake, most people see smoke and they think cancer.
I guess it would depend on the situation

Back to the topic
If I were to pass un-expectantly tomorrow (regardless of my COD) I would expect one of my cigar smoking friends to dig around in my humidor and pass around the finest cigars I had left in my stash (ED109s, ED54s, Aged CoLas, Aged Monsdales, Cohiba 1966s, Cohiba DCs, ect)
I wont be around to enjoy them anyway and I've always said, smoke your best cigars on your worst days
If I haven't gotten around to enjoying the finest fruits of this pursuit, I'd rather my nearest and dearest get the opportunity rather than them being sold to some collector who I've never met.

We have discussed this in the past, Jase. You know my views.... I'm gonna be soaked in rum (not Bundy!), then cremated with a whole bunch of my cigars. I have instructions in my will regarding how my booze and cigars will be disposed of (surprise, Jase! you got the job). If you don't like drinking and cigar smoke, you're not invited to my funeral!
