Popular Post Jfeath74 Posted January 3, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 3, 2018 This weekend I decided to smoke a Nov 2011 Monte 2. This cigar, similar to the rest in this box was a bit rugged with a light brown claro wrapper. This cigar in particular had a loose draw, with a nice salty profile coming through on the pre draw. Upon lighting the cigar I got a bit of those salt notes but they were quickly washed out by your typical cream and coffee Montecristo profile, which pretty much dominated the flavor start to finish. This cigar was medium bodied at most, even with dense smoke output which coated the mouth, leaving the creamy profile that Monte 2 smokers love! The cigar had nice floral notes on the retro and burned nicely on the first half but got a little wonky on the second half and required some minor touch ups. Even with the loose draw and wonky burn in the second half, the cigar remained smooth down to the last puff. The flavors weren't in your face and I didn't get the chocolate notes that come through on great Monte's. However, overall I feel it was a great cigar with refined flavors and what stood out on my tasting notes the most was the final line stating "smooth, super smooth". 5
