Popular Post Jfeath74 Posted January 2, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 2, 2018 Winter is here and sub zero temperatures have limited my cigar intake and forced me to either bundle up and brave a Minuto in the elements or head to my local tobacconist of choice and spend some time in the comfort of a lounge. If I'm heading to a lounge (US) and I'm in the mood for a Cuban, I'll purchase a cigar from the lounge and then light up my Cuban, typically removing the band. I don't know if this is generally acceptable or not but I haven't had an issue with this at my spot, maybe I'll start a separate thread on this... The cigar in itself was an absolute gem. I purchased a box in the beginning of the year after hearing they were on the way out and seeing all the rave reviews. This was the third I have had from the box and I'm officially angry at myself for not getting more then one box when they were easily available, as each has been better then the last and all three have been fantastic. This cigar had a silky chocolate brown wrapper, tight draw, even burn and the complexity was unreal with a kaleidoscope of flavors that continued to evolve from start to finish. My flavor notes read as follow: "milk chocolate, nougat, dark chocolate, leather, back to milk chocolate, coffee, back to leather, cedar on the retro". The cigar went from sweet, earthy, back to sweet and back to earthy. Both times the cigar started down the earthy flavor spectrum I thought to myself here we go it's going to turn bitter, but then the turn from the earthy/leather notes went back to chocolate notes over half way through and then developed back to coffee/leather/earth notes at the final third but even down to the nub at no point did the cigar ever go bitter, one of the best I had in 2017! 7
joeman Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I always do a one-for-one at a lounge. I purchase a similar sized cigar and take that home and smoke what I brought. If they have a fee or just require you to purchase a certain dollar amount to sit there I always comply with that. Jonesing for a nice Bolivar CG right about now. Good review! 1
stickburner Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Milk chocolate, coffee, leather, and earth OMG what could be better. Nice reviewSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fugu Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Always been a top-notch cigar, but its final runs have been superb. Dying in a blaze of glory. A shame, but there obviously wasn't enough love for them. Thanks for your review capturing this stick's qualities nicely! 1
jcorona Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Nice review. Haven't had any bolivar yet, but looking forward to buying and trying some. Most likely will purchase some minutos and the brc, bbf.
