Popular Post Islandboy Posted December 31, 2017 Popular Post Posted December 31, 2017 Not a CC, but as one of the cigars I planned to smoke on the New Years Cigars thread, a member requested I jot down my thoughts. And its not New Years Eve yet, but...it happens to be my birthday. So perhaps I’m entitled to stretch the rules a bit? (Like I really need an excuse). First off, my apologies to @Doctorossi, I thought I had a Super Belicoso, turns out after careful measuring it’s in fact a Perfecxion #2, which is a bit longer, not that I’m complaining. This is the last of the FFOX’s in my humidor, and it’s been in there for over 2 years, but less than 3. She’s a beauty. There’s something sexy about these sticks, especially the pointy ones Despite the first clip being minimal, the cold draw is like a wind tunnel. Seriously. And the band slides easily off the cigar. I’m immediately thinking I’ve dried this baby out by leaving it in my CC humidor for several years at 65RH. Perhaps I should have “wet boxed” it. Cold draw reveals nothing more than tobacco flavor. I’m fearing the worst. First third starts out typically muted and a bit peppery, but just a few puffs in the place starts jumping. Whew! Basically barnyard, with some sweetness filling in. I get some honey, a little graham cracker. So far so good. By the time I enter the second third, I’m amazed at how slowly it’s burning considering I could basically use it as a straw in a drink. Sweetness fades, and barnyard builds, along with a rich earthiness. Im thinking how the individual flavors have been similar to a classic Cohiba, but this has a completely different balance of them. This creates a very unique, rich yet smooth flavor profile. The rest of the cigar was more of the same, with the rich earthy and leather elements building to the end. A few minor touch-ups were required to keep the wrapper burning all around, but nothing like the loose draw would suggest. I thoroughly enjoyed it to the nub. I have to leave you with an experience of serendipitous good fortune and timing. As I am enjoying my Perfecxion #2, the postman delivers a package. In it are the unlikely results of a recent contest. Did I mention it’s my birthday? I’m pretty jaw-dropped about this. I’d say more, but...you know... Aloha and Mahalo!! Brad 6
havanaclub Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Nice review. I have to be honest, I am so jealous of your view. My buddy and family are in Hawaii right now. Well I am about to hit my garage with a space heater at -14C. Lol. Cheers mate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

I hear you on the weather, things are sounding pretty brutal on your end right now. But there’s always pros and cons. If it’s any consolation, hurricane season takes up roughly half of every year, and I’m on pins and needles. My proximity to the ocean means bad things will happen if we’re unlucky enough to see a direct hit. Enough of that...back to the cigars. Stay warm brother! 1

I can't really even daydream about having a cigar right now. 1
