Popular Post Islandboy Posted December 25, 2017 Popular Post Posted December 25, 2017 This is my 2nd stick out of this young box. It’s also also my second review from this box, but I couldn’t help myself...this was quite excellent, and I wanted confirmation that there was some consistency with my virgin experience, which was quite nice. Happily, there is. My first SW simply tasted like grandma’s oatmeal raisin cookies to me. This time I tried to focus a bit more on the individual flavors. It started right off with the same experience as the first. Draw was a bit tight, but very workable, as smoke output was quite good. I could tell I was in this for the long haul. Right off the bat, the flavors were quite intense - Cinnamon, Brown sugar, Nutmeg. Seems the perfect Christmas Eve smoke so far. I paired it with Meiomi Pinot Noir. Mmmm. Somewhere in the first third, a component of orange peel came nicely into the background. None of the bite, mind you...just the pleasant flavor. The emphasis was really on the intensity of the flavors. Nothing really changed much through the first and second third, other than the flavors becoming even more rich as I smoked it down. The aroma is absolutely decadent. A bit of youthful bite on the tongue came into play somewhere in the final third, but slowing my pace down a bit pretty much eliminated this. The aroma...OMG! The first pic was taken at 6:03 pm, the last at 8:06 pm. Definitely a 2 hour plus experience. While there was nothing mongrel at all about it, the wonderful flavors were quite intense, arguably too intense. I can only imagine what these taste like with 3 or 4 or 10 years on them. I’m going to try my best to find out, as this is definitely a special occasion cigar, and I think I have a winner of a box here. Merry Christmas all! Aloha, Brad 7 2
Akela3rd Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Christmas in Hawaii sounded like it should be an album title. I looked on Spotify and... it is! Annoying the family with it now Have a great day! Thunder & Lightening '75 - '15 2
