Popular Post Habana Mike Posted November 27, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 27, 2017 For my final smoke over the Thanksgiving weekend I selected this Angel's Share Perfexcion X a friend gifted me back in 2014. Used to be I'd smoke an FFOX on the Thanksgiving as they generally have the strength and fortitude to overcome the strongest of tryptophan hypnosis..that and the awesome apple pie baking spices seemed to always work well. I've pretty much moved on from these the past few years as my palate settled and refined. As I was doing a bit of reorganization today I came across this one and thought why not? Let's fire it up. Started with the typical baking spices aforementioned but without the heavy nic kick and battery acid finish. This is a more mellow and gentle version of the main line and actually quite enjoyable. The wrapper had a bit of a crack near the head which I subsequently patched and about a third of the way in am liking the complexity and depth of flavors being delivered. Cinnamon, nutmeg, light cocoa. Touch of brown sugar. Excellent construction. Burn, draw, smoke production all spot on. Pure white ash. Definitely fuller-bodied and some strength, though not as in your face as a fresh Opus X. Still I prefer my Habanos over these but it is not a bad smoke by any means. 9
Darkenskies Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Excellent review. I prefer Habanos as well but still stock Fuentes, Padrons, Tats and Ligas. Variety is a good thing. 2
DBNInc Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Great review. Why are the beat-up sticks always so good?! 1
