Popular Post Fatshotbud Posted November 27, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 27, 2017 Got something? Post a picture too! I like tobacco related items and have a small collection of older butane & petrol lighters. This is a Popell Junior - butane - manufactured 1964-69 flint sparking and requires replaceable reservoir Think his brand was bought by Feudor and are (disposables) made in China now. Little more historyhttps://vintageflamesblog.wordpress.com/2016/12/31/poppell-lighters-the-missing-link/ 7 2
Fatshotbud Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 Here are a handful of some Cheroot holders. Been tempted to try a couple to save my fingertips - second from right is silver? 2

Fatshotbud Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 Thought this was interesting MYON (France) butane - Basket weave that looks like ... a basket - made in '60s Flame comes out side hole - butane revoir must be changed when empty - still looking for information on this one 3
BrightonCorgi Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I use to be into the ST Dupont lighters. A friend I grew up with use to be the creative design head of ST Dupont. He designed the 007 lighters and probably everything that company made during that era. The lighters get old and leak, so whatever deal I find for them it ended up being an additional $100 to service it. I never use my Dupont; been thinking of selling it. 1

Like ST size/shape ... SleekSent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk 1

Call my uncouth, but I am Bic lighter user now... No more pretense in lighting cigars. 2

One guy selling his said he managed to partially refill his Myon Pipeflam.
Fatshotbud Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 You able to get a pic of the gas tank? One guy selling his said he managed to partially refill his Myon Pipeflam. That's it in third picture - but filling these old lighters especially those with "cartridge tanks" would be unadvisable (and scary,). Be like loading a Magmum round in an old hammer type shotgun..... Squeeze the trigger and could be blowing your lips off IMHOSent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk 1

Fatshotbud Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 This looks like it it refillable. Similar model.Interesting that sticker says "multirecharge". Might have an issue finding a can that fits at nozzle. I tried a typical modern fill can on a few old lighters and it didn't fit most. Maybe a can with adapter tips? Still could be hazardous....Sent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk
Fatshotbud Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 This is a Zamia Companion - Japan est'65 - Flint/Butane ... This one can be recharged and even comes with an adapter to use with something other than their recommended canned gas. This lighter is kind of dangerous just from reading the instructions ?

These are all rad. I like tobacciana too, but I don't really have any myself.
Fatshotbud Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 I would not think so - Bakelite IS more heat resistant than normal plastic but not fireproof.... I know of meerschaum or maybe ceramics for pipes??Sent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk
Fatshotbud Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 By comparison... another Zaima (Nesor) this has an electronic ignition - I would feel better filling/using this one ?

Same roller on the side, but the inlay was silver. I snuck it out of the house once when I was 7-8 years old and lost it. Thanks for showing us your collection!

Maybe part of "restructuring" post war but I noticed many commercial products came from Japan in '60s-70s .... Now hard to find anything not produced in China.Colibi was originally marked from England/Swiss! Those are the ones I prefer collecting.Sent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk 1
