H Upmann Connie #1 - 2014 Encuentros: Thanksgiving review

Fresh back from this year's Partagas event thought I'd pull out a stick from the festival 3 years back as part of the weekend's smoking regimen.

True Upmann experience - woody, roast coffee, hints of white pepper. A very full-flavored cigar with just the right age to it.

93 pointer for sure.

As I noted in another thread this year's Connie 1 handout was tremendous. 95 pointer for me. At least the first one--I was able to get two more and I'm hoping they compare. Have you tried this year's yet?

Yes, I made a point to smoke most of the handouts during the events - still have an extra of each thanks to my dear mule!

I came away thinking that the team selected some excellent boxes, many with some age to them.

The Connie, Presidente and Siglo VI in particular impressed me.

I don't think I've ever heard of the Encuentros releases... Are they special event cigars?

Yes the partagas does a bi-annual event in Cuba...  I believe this is from it. http://www.cubawelcome.com/Cigar-Tours/Partagas-Festival.php

Yes, typically standard production with a Partagas LCDH label on them which are handed out during the Partagas Festival.
