phlee Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 I got a couple of these sticks handed to me yesterday and have been trying to identify them but have not managed to find out much Appreciate if someone could educate me. These are huge sticks
oliverdst Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 They are regular sticks. The second band is from Encuentro de Partagas 2015. I would say the cigars are from the same year. The upper one should be a P2 but not with that band. Other members will help.

Not sure, sizes don't look like regular production but hard to tell from the pics shown The 170 band is a very generic band placed on reg production sticks and customs at some dinners, festivals, etc
Colt45 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 I've no idea how things work for the festival cigars, but there has been a Partagas Rodolfo, 170, Sublime......

There are two types of cigars mentioned... not sure which you're referring to. On 10/20/2017 at 2:37 AM, Bartolomeo said: These are from the Partagas 170 Aniversario humidor. 56 x 170mm. Official release from Habanos SA, available worldwide. Numbered humidor of 50 cigars. 450 released. A rare, multi-thousand dollar collector's humidor. Unlikely that a genuine example would "pop up on reddit", but could probably find one at an LCDH or high end store somewhere. These are a 'special' cigar in that they would have been made with first class tobacco, and the blend would have been specially created by a senior Tabacuba master blender, and would have gone through a tasting panel and so on to create something unique and special. On 10/20/2017 at 7:33 AM, Bartolomeo said: These are custom bands produced by the LCDH at the Partagas factory in Havana. They were placed on both custom rolls sold in their store, and on various regular production cigars. Some of these were repacked into custom humidors from local craftsmen, some sold as singles, probably some in various other boxes. Most would have been purchased by tourists in Cuba, but there is a good chance that the owner of a B&M someplace bought some and resold them. The cigars aren't "fake" in that they're not pretending to be anything they aren't, but they aren't an official product from Habanos SA. But in terms of being special, they are either just whatever regular production cigar they were put on, or whatever custom roll they were put on. They wouldn't be the same standard as from the official humidor. 6

Thank you for the info, that's really cool to know. 1
