El Presidente Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 It is hard enough to find wrappers like this on Cohiba Genios or Magicos. I certainly haven't seen them on Monte Petit Edmundos. it was only one mastercase. There is plenty of cocoa in a MPE as it is. It should be turbocharged in these. 2
JohnS Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Near-Oscuro shaded wrappers, medium-full bodied and most probably bitter cocoa flavours when youthful, I wonder if 10 years would even 'knock the edge' of these? 1

Shaunster Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I have a box like these, a 10ct box and im glad its only a 10 box. Quite awful flavour, very bitter and nothing like a PE which has a quality lighter wrapper. 2

If they don't make great genios or magicos bitter, they shouldn't make MPE bitter. Rough sandpaper oscuro wrapper is a different thing again. Pure crap. Post up a photo of your box for comparison

Nah, best educated guess from having similar (singles that looked like that, but perhaps not as dark). I have a box from 2014. No way have I even touched it and not intending to for some time. Then again, I have a strong bias towards Montecristo Petit Edmundo that is aged and not youthful and that is just my personal preference. 1

Winchester21 Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Holy crap. I will kill for a box of these
Danimalia Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I had a 10 count of very dark MPE, though probably not this dark. I thought they were wonderful, and I smoked through them with a bit under 2 years of age on them. Lots of cocoa and cream. I don't recall any bitterness in mine. I'd not hesitate to pull the trigger on a box like that 1

Not a fan of the darker oilier ones. Lighter shade and velvet/butter wrapper is the way to go imo. Same with Partagas Presidentes, Upmann Mag 46 and Epi 2 to name a few. 1

Wertman Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I would like to try both next to eachother and every year after to see how they evolve 1
