Ken Gargett Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 there is a petition to stop the commercial netting around fraser island. anyone who has been up there knows the damage they do, not just to the environment but to the local economy - seeing fish just left on the beach because they could not be bothered collecting them; knowing that they remove tonnes of fish (which do, or at least would, attract recreational fishermen who bring a lot of money to the region) and the vast majority is sold for catfood for a few cents a kilo - has long realy angered me and many others. if anyone is interested in signing this, please do so. Hey, I just signed the petition "Dr Steven Miles : STOP Commercial Netting in the Great Sandy Marine Park !" and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name. Our goal is to reach 5,000 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/p/dr-steven-miles-stop-commercial-netting-in-the-great-sandy-marine-park?recruiter=742670659&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=share_email_responsive Thanks! 1
