Popular Post BuzzArd
I smoked it, so I'm reviewing it, dammit. Mag 56 review MEG MAR 16 Well, I'm late to the game (not the first time; won't be the last I'm sure). Besides, I took a good picture of this one, even if with an iPhone.... The only 53+ stick I had in hand. Bought with the Christmas Sampler late November of '16. Wrapper was a nice Colorado. Roll was mostly firm. A teensy bit soft at the head, but that just gives something to dig your teeth into. Draw was very easy. Not as tight as I prefer, but definitely not a wind tunnel. Suits me, as I'm smoking this on a 150 mile night road trip and didn't need a fight with draw. Speaking of draw, at cold it had a nice toasted tobacco and a slight cedar note. Toasted the foot, and got shortbread, white pepper and some spicy sweetness immediately. Foot lit perfectly and evenly, and the burn throughout the first two thirds stayed razor sharp with a nice light grey ash (as far as I could tell; hell, it was a night drive...). Ash held easily out to a full inch before I knocked it into an ash cup on purpose to avoid a Lebowski-esque panic of having to pour my road soda into my lap. Who wants to cross four freeway lanes and a median and hit a dumpster at 80mph anyways.... Second third saw some espresso notes arriving. Traditional Upmann flavors persisted throughout. Definitely full flavored, but probably medium strength. Final third I got a bit of harshness and the burn went off kilter requiring a few touch ups to the finish. The stick needs some more time down, but alas, I have no more. It was a great experience, and will probably be even better in a few years time. The cigar lasted a good two hours, which surprised me. As easy as the draw was I expected it to burn much more quickly. Might have to call that OLH box home soon....
Islandboy
Great review! After reading all the reviews on this stick, I’m hoping to try one soon. I’m just trying to envision how one would touch up a cigar while driving...without hitting a dumpster at 80mph.

Practice and mad skills.
MooseAMuffin
Great review! I have one of these from the Christmas sampler as well but wanted to let it sit a bit longer. Although it sounds good, I'm glad I let it rest after reading your review. Thanks for the info!
