Popular Post Islandboy Posted June 10, 2017 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2017 If some is good, more is better, right? Given to me by a friend attending a wedding here, who brought a bunch of loose CC’s with him. It’s a bit rough looking, like well-worn leather, perhaps weary from all the travelling it’s done. It’s also a bit darker than the silky-smooth, golden brown wrappers of my 52’s. Unlit aroma does nothing special for me, but it rarely ever does unless I’m sticking my nose in a full box. Once lit, the first few draws offer perfect resistance and smoke output is ideally plentiful as well, but I get muted flavors and a slight bitterness on the finish – making me think the cigar is young. Perhaps it’s not quite ready for prime time. Good thing I didn’t pay for it. Then about 5 draws in, just when I was settling in for a mediocre experience, it comes on like a freight train: toasted caramel/graham cracker/brown sugar – whatever the kids are calling it these days. That classic Cohiba taste, with a long luxurious finish. I’ve just been upgraded to first class. I’m not one to get specific with various tastes, probably because I haven’t developed the synapses in my brain that link the data from my palate that way. Plus, I don’t want to work that hard while I enjoy a cigar. I mainly employ the Meh/OK/Good/Great/Holy S**t! scale. This cigar is somewhere between Great and Holy S**t! The aroma is an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. I’m also not one to rate a cigar by thirds. I get that it’s convenient, but it seems too arbitrary. If it changes, I’ll let you know when. But it does not (thankfully). Honestly, this was one of the best cigars I’ve had. That’s largely because I absolutely love the Cohiba taste and aroma, and this stick had it in spades. I give it a 96, whatever that means. Aloha! Brad 12
jerrybrowne Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Great review. Prefer the BHK52, but the 54 is a great cigar.
Winchester21 Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I have never had anything but fakes. Would love to try one. I always miss them here too slow. Maybe someday I will luck out and score one. Nice review. Got your point across without going into thirds and specific taste note observations. You definitely have a good friend 1
Wertman Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I love the behike. I bought a couple when they first came out from AJ they were amazing and the finish is great the taste lasted hours in my mouth. Best cigars I ever had.

Thomasdenaro Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 very good straight to the point review, great work!
Islandboy Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 Thanks all! And thanks to a good friend’s generosity. I’ve got a box of AMO AGO 15 52’s that I’ve only had the first core sample out of a few months back. Comparing the two, both had the same wonderful aroma, but this 54 was a bit older I’m guessing, as it was super smooth and luxurious once it came on. Looking forward to my 52’s coming of age (soon I hope).
Spanishcedar Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Great review, thank you for this... the BHK's have had me intrigued since the line's inception; albeit, I have not been anxious enough to commit to a box but it is reassuring to see that they are doing well. Thanks again!
