This cigar has a lovely medium Colorado wrapper that's visibly toothy, with some visible veins and mottling. Once lit, the combustion is cool and even, and the draw is firm and full. The ash is flaky and gray. The aroma starts off leathery and floral, and the initial flavor is vintage Upmann - earthy and vegetal, with notes of Mariposa. The aroma is spicy and has occasional hints of dark chocolate.

In the second third, pepper and nutmeg emerge in the aroma, while the palate develops fragrant tea and floral notes. A leathery depth emerges at the mid-point. The second half shows flashes of sea salt and a vibrant, distinct honeyed peanut aroma. Beautiful. Finishes with a malty aroma. Pairs well with Cuban-style coffee. A rich, complex Julieta that's full of varied character.

Score: 96
