Impeccable wrapper is deep caramel in color with a fine sheen. Starts with a perfect burn, draw and smoke.

Initial profile is deep, rich, earthy leather. Aroma has notes of white pepper. Ash is flaky gray. Aroma begins to develop notes of sea salt, and a creme brulee-like caramelized sugar profile subtly emerges over deepening base.

Grows evenly in character and depth. Draw is substantial, but not too firm - perfect. Finish is long on the palate and redolent with oil. Pairs beautifully with Cubita, although the strength can overwhelm the coffee a bit. A beautiful, archetypal Julieta.

I can understand the high rating. I think these MEL 15 Esplendidos were highly sought after on 24:24 listings in the recent past.
