ATGroom Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 A couple of days ago the Habanos media outlets ran some pictures of a new release... the Partagás Serie E No. 2 travel humidor, which was first announced as part of the 2015 program. As I was updating CCW it got me thinking, what else from the distant past is still in the pipeline. The front page of CCW links to the release status for the last two years, so the 2015 program dropped off a while ago - https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/cigar/releasestatus/2015 There are four cigars currently listed as unreleased: -Romeo y Julieta Club Kings: I think these were actually from a pre-festival leaked list, and never had an official announcement. Nothing online. I would say they're probably not happening at this point. -Romeo y Julia Wide Churchills Gran Reserva: there's a few reviews out there, that I think are mostly from the sticks handed out at the festival. Maybe a small number of boxes made it into the wild, but general availability seems to be almost 0. Looking online I can find most of the other reservas available for sale (at a price, admittedly), but not these. They're a bit of a question mark to me, as these are the flagship release that I'd imagine commands the highest profit margin in the catalogue, so you'd think they'd get them out before anything else. The tobacco shortage shouldn't be an issue as they use leaf from 2009, and one would hope the checked that they had enough before announcing the cigar in the first place. -Hoyo de Monterrey Maravillas Coleccion Habanos. There are a tiny number of photos of these online, a few of which seem to be actual product photos, not press releases. A few stores list them as sold out or unavailable. Possibly a small number made it into the wild, but again, nowhere near 2,000 boxes. -Partagás 170 Aniversario Replica Antique Humidor. Again, there are a very small number of non-press photos of these around, and there actually seems to be one for sale in Germany (#9). If they're in the wild then again, well short of the 450 there should be. So I guess my question is, does anyone have any of the above cigars? They're all numbered... what are your box numbers? Should I mark them as released? Or cancelled? Or are we expecting them to show up en mass any day now?
Lant63 Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 The Hoyo, and the Partagas 170 have been released, with the book it is harder to tell how many, but I have seen photos of some collectors with 4 or 5 of the Partagas 170 humidor. Also is your dusky beauties website still running?
luvdunhill Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Similar question for the H. Upmann Robusto Añjeados perhaps? I would assume they will be released, as they have presumably already been boxed, etc. Anyone seen them?
