Punch Punch Box code Unknown: Ode to the 43 and 46 gauge review week

For my review this week, I chose a Punch Punch. Unfortunately the box code is unknown. I believe this came from the Christmas sampler that ElPres put up! I paired this cigar with one of my favorite after dinner drinks, a Colorado bulldog. This, like my last review, was my first time trying a Punch Punch.

The smell was fantastic! Prelight draw was pretty loose, but that's better than being too snug imo, and it was pretty much a woody flavor. First third was great. Cedar with a little hint of something else I can't describe. Almost a sweet hay? I dunno.

Second third kept the Cedar flavor but lost the sweet hay. A light spice was added toward the end of the draw which was very pleasant. The smoke was thick and creamy which added a great aspect to the stick.

The burn stayed pretty even throughout the stick but I had to touch it up toward the end of the second third. I scorched the wrapper a bit and suffered through a few bad draws but my drink helped cleanse my palate.

Final third was similar. Heavy cedar on the front but the spiciness was very intense in the end. It definitely got spicier as I progressed through the cigar. It ended at the perfect mix of Cedar to spice ratio. Had the cigar been longer and kept the same characteristics, I think I would have been overwhelmed with spice.

Overall, great smoke. Definitely box worthy! Based on the spice, it would be smart to buy a box and let them sit a bit imo.
