El Presidente Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 I still believe the threat of a clampdown is overblown but time will tell. Cuba may be asked to give up "something" which would be a start given they have given up nothing so far. When addressed it should be an interesting play. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/reuters/article-4276596/U-S-cigar-lovers-stock-Cuba-visits-fearing-clampdown.html

Fugu Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 ....well, 25 boxes "on a trip last year" has been illegal as well. So, why bother...? Edit: Ok, read it to hastily.... after he removed the $100 limit....
1LegLance Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 The only thing I am worried about is that with the Festival this week and us not arriving till Sunday there might not be many sticks left in Havana But I am going to give it my best shot to buy plenty since my sons and I like the small scale stuff like RA, RG, Boli, SLR, SP and all that non tourist sticks.
SMQQKIN Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Been stocking up for years. No worries... just have been buying up what I enjoy to smoke in quantity. The writing is on the wall. Words of advice - Buy more than you can possibly smoke & you will avoid the future price increases, the discontinuation of your favorites that piss you off & the worst that can happen is you have too many aged cigars down the road. I have found that if I over stock I just sell a them to friends that are more than eager to take them off my hands. Buy a cabinet 3 times as big as you think you need & you are set. What worries? 4
BrightonCorgi Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Just as we worry/ponder what will happen when Cuban cigars can be sold here in USA, we need to be cognizant of where smoking laws and tobacco use are headed in the country. You may not be able to smoke virtually anywhere including in your home if it is a condo/apartment or in your own home if there are children. Seems like the writing is on the walls and it's just a matter of time...
