Rustyman
Hi All, My brief story about my introduction to Cuban cigars. Previously I had only smoked cigars at weddings, baptisms, etc, and wouldn't be able to tell where those cigars came from or distinguish the taste from one to another. At the beginning of 2016, some family friends went to Cuba on holidays and on a whim I asked them to buy me some cigars. They returned with a 3 pack of Monte 2's, a 3 pack of RyJ Churchills and 3 Monte 4's. Tried the Monte 4's first as they were singles and really had a mixed experience. One was good but the other two could have turned me off cigars if I didn't enjoy the experience so much. Then bought a sampler pack from a B&M in Sydney and had some great experiences although a couple were duds. This increased my interest and appetite for CC's so I continued to by 2-3 cigars per time however prices were/are high and not sustainable. (The wife would kill me if she knew how much my new hobby was costing me) Have since ordered a 10 pack sampler from our host which arrived today and I cannot wait to start firing these up on the weekend. Almost decided on what I want to order for my first box but will wait until I have waded through the sampler pack. All in all, a most enjoyable journey however I fear it is going to become an expensive one once I get into boxes. Rustyman

JohnS
I know you'll enjoy the next Sydney get together you can come to, @Rustyman. Our night at the Bald Rock Hotel at Balmain (really Rozelle) was great. It will be great to catch up with you in person to share your passion of our great hobby. Until then, keep smoking a variety of Cuban marcas and developing your palate!
