Popular Post BuzzArd Posted January 22, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2017 Been wanting to try these.... Couldn't be a better reason. What follows is simply a cut and paste from my notes during last nights fire. The chimnea was cranking pretty good too... Bolivar Gigantes Received in the Christmas sampler and stored at 65/60 since arrival "Dark" tobacco rather than sweet At cold Big leather and spice hit upon lighting Earthy. Woody Went out at 3/4" and again at the half. At the half relight, very consistent flavor and intensity. Still loads of leather and spice with some earthy, mushroom-like pungence to it. The quality of the leather component becoming more "tangy" around the half. At the 2/3 mark "Tang" continues. Very nice. Some driftwood-like flavors coming in at this point. Kind of a saltiness almost. Not sure how else to describe it.... (They came and went throughout the last 1/2-2/3) Finished in just under two hours. Smoked it til I began to smell flesh, but it was late so I did not reach for my clip. The cigar held a very nice ash. I did knock it off periodically to avoid wearing it, but 1"+ was easy and consistent. Have two full boxes of these. Very much looking forward to trying them after some down time. 7
