Has anyone ever seen a regional (ER) cigar with an EL box code, ever?

Not for PCC releases  at least.

Let me further explain how I came up with the idea of SOM being the same factory as RAE. If you do a little research you'll find certain Marcas are produced at certain factories as @Fugu said above mo

Please dont take it offensive. I just feelyou really want this box and code to be El Laguito. But does it really matter? Isnt the taste of a cigar what matters at the end of the day? I think it does.

Here is the answer. Right from Phoenicia, T.A.A. Dear Mr. Bohn Thank you for your email. You are right about the box codes issue, but due to big quantity of the Phoenicio 35 product

...unlikely - El Laguito is doing globals essentially, such as Cohiba and the odd Party. ERs are not done as part of the global brands range.

+ R&J + Montecristo

Given that they rolled out Montecristo Number 4 ........not too much would surprise me ;)

yep, as I said, globals only (or mainly.... haven't seen any local, multi-local or niche (with the exception of Trini in the past) brands from there so far). Monte 4, well no statements to be made related to quality in any way - I mean, look there are Laguito-made Talismans rolling around ... :P

(But true, nothing to be really surprised about REs should it happen some day....)

An interesting tidbit of information I found out by sending a couple emails to retailers and distributors was nearly all of the 109 Vitolas are rolled at La Corona.  Not all of them, but most.  From a little bit of research I've done I have a theory on why we see have seen so many PSP/HQ cigars from La Corona:  because the Figurados are rolled by only highly skilled rollers at La Corona.  I started wondering about this when I noticed the Dip 2s from TOS NOV15 looked identical in wrapper to Bushidos from TOS NOV15.  So I did a little digging and found out what I thought to be true.  Partagas P2, virtually all Cuabas, and Dip2s are mostly all rolled at La Corona.  Likely rolled by the same higher grade rollers who roll the 109s.

I have RG 88s from SOM DIC 16.

Just to add to the confusion, I have a box of Talismans that have a LMB dic 17 code. It’s been reported that Talismans were being rolled all over, not just EL, but I’ve never seen this LMB code before. Any ideas?

UK's El Rey del Mundo La Reina is currently being rolled at EL.

How much you want to bet that the factory code is not UAO

I wondered that to as they are being made there I just dont know if they will be boxed there

Which I never understood the logic in that when you think that is they roll them in the factory, why transport the loose cigars elsewhere just to put them in the box? Personally, IMHO, I think that where they were boxed is where they are actually rolled. It’s more efficient and less likely to result in issues with the cigars being transported before boxing. Did you see them being rolled at El Laguito or is it what someone is suggesting?

Any idea of the release date in the U.K. please? I'm definitely going to try these.

You may very well see this.  I have seen Behikes with the RAE box code which is the code I believe to be the same as SOM for 2013-2015.

I have Behike 52  and 56, both from 2013. Both are BTO. One April one june. If that adds to anything.

Doesn't matter what we think @Bohn007 Cuba does what Cuba does. Here is the most public speaking about La Reina.

I watched the video in full and recognize some of the people in the video who I had met before. Interestingly, I never heard in the video anyone say that the La Reina was specifically, actually, rolled in El Laguito. They had the tasting there but the cigar could have come from anywhere and at that tasting, it would have been something that they would have talked about I would have thought.

I was specifically told by Pedro L. Perez Acosta, the Director General of El Laguito, that the only cigars that will be rolled in El Laguito in 2019 will be Trinidad and Cohiba. Obviously we all understand that not everything goes according to plan in Cuba but it would seem like they are taking it very seriously in light of the launching of the new sizes of the Trinidad.

I am sure he genuinely believes it.  However,I have heard the same from previous DG's at EL over the years.

I sincerely hope that they hold to that plan.

Of course I completely agree with this. The greatest plan does not always end up the same in the end as it does when it starts, especially in Cuba
