Popular Post wade1979 Posted November 4, 2016 Popular Post Posted November 4, 2016 This box was recently acquired during a 24:24 sale. I'm a big fan of the SLR brand and have smokes through my fair share of 2014-14 Regios and Serie A. This would be my first experience with any aged SLR. Excited to see how these sticks have evolved after 10 years of sleep. First Third. Beautiful sized stick in the hand with a pungent and musty aroma coming off the cigar. The first few puffs are filled with light wood, cream and a bit of salt. This cigar settles down a bit and now has a bit of what I can only describe as sweet coconut. Very pleasant and mellow and the burn is great. I find these older cigars have near perfect construction. Maybe that comes with aging? Second Third Wow is this cigar elegant. The coconut has left and now I get a really subtle red fruit note and salt. Its really balanced well with the cream. No one flavor is over taking the next and they all seem to be complimenting each other. The burn is flawless. This cigar is just a real pleasure to be smoking. Final Third Not a huge evolution, but who cares. Still getting random puffs of fruit and cream, but some of the light wood and salt show up at the end. Never a rough edge on this cigar and it has been pure class from the beginning. Rating 97 I sure hope my 2014 boxes turn out like this in 2024 6
strikethebox7 Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Great review and a great looking cigar, have to say the description of "sweet coconut" has me very curious to try one of these. Sounds like the 10 years of age really enhanced the flavor experienceSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TheMonk Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Nicely done, the Serie A can indeed be a very nice smoke.
JohnS Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 It looks like the type of box once can burn through in a very quick time. I think I would based on your review! 1

laficion Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Dear Wade 1979, Great review and thanks. At the moment I'm going through a box of S.L.R. Serie A from 2013 and I must say that, aside that they are also my go to cigars with H.d.M. Epicure No. 1, I find them to be just FANTASTIC !!!!!! . Even Young they are sooo good. I was very happy to see that I'm not alone on that .Thanks !!!!! Guy 1
