Spring Cleaning

Overdue on my routine humidor and cigar check I decided it was time to take each box out and check for beetles or mould.

Still no beetles luckily! And just one box mouldy.. Despite my efforts.

At first it was a horror show.. But after some TLC I couldn't help but get all sentimental and admire how beautiful a good batch of cigars can be

What is the temp and humidity settings that you are aging the cigars? Beautiful sticks all the same though. Love aging my cigars.

I've had a worse experience with some Monte 2s.. I almost turfed them.. But that's been the worst since and only box I've had go mouldy in about 4 years since..

Next year marks 10 years of cigars for me actually.  but I consider myself a humble hobby smoker in regards to frequency I smoke and quantity of collection.

I have a vintec I keep at 12 degrees and have 2 pounds of 65 humidity beads in I regulate with demineralised water and a pound of odourless kitty litter in a stocking to help prevent spikes

Humidity sort of floats between 61 and 80.. Usually it's around 68-72..

That said,often to the touch I think the real humidity must be lower 60s as the cigars are often fair and mostly dry to the touch.

Cheers, I think my humidor is actually usually on the dryer side than the hydrometer suggests so that's probably why.

That and in the last 4 years there's not allot of movement in there so I think that's helped keep everything pretty regular.
