irratebass Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Hey guys.......long time no talk.....really sucks that my job has blocked FOH, but i'm still here and lurking. Anyway, my wife's cousin is getting ready to go to puerto rico, and was wanting to bring back some cigars. He was asking me what is the protocol. He himself doesn't smoke, but his FIL does, and is wanting some Cubans. So, any help here, or are they all fake anyway, and not to bother? Thanks guys.......I miss ya's man. 1
El Guero Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Puerto Rico is a U.S. Territory. Under the embargo? 2
Habana Mike Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 No Habanos in PR, except fakes.....don't bother. 1

JY0 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Just like the US, no Cuban Cigars, yet. The hand rolled cigars sold on the street in Old San Juan are nasty! 1
Troels Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Bought some singles, tubed, cubans in the lobby if our hotel when there in 2010 ( some ressort West of San juan) it was my impression they were legit - but price wouldnt be competetive 1
sjmistry Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I didn't find nor even look for Havanas while there last year. There is a pretty good shop that sells cigars rolled with Puerto Rican tobacco. Also the fresh rolls made by street torcedores are pretty good, you can find them close to the San Juan port. PM me and I'll let you know the shop name. -Shake 2
Danimalia Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I went there when I was 14, and bought a bunch of cigars from a tobacco shop in San Juan. Don't remember anything abut them except they were unbanded and strong. Then again, I was 14, and didn't know anything about cigars. They served me liquor, and I had no trouble buying cigarettes and cigars. Puerto Rico was pretty awesome for my 14 y/o self. 1
