billh1 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Start time 12:20. Clipped cap to find firm draw. Flavors initially all stewed fruit sweetness and leather...beautiful! First ash dropped around 12:30 on it's own. No change in flavor profile until near the end of first third when a bit of white pepper became apparent on the retro hale. 12:40: Ash dropped again on it's own as I was just getting into the second third. Draw still a little firmer than I prefer but taste ok as the cigar doesn't appear to be heating up due to tight draw. The burn is razor sharp! Pepper spice is picking up along with some subtle vegetal nuances. Not so overwhelmingly sweet at this point...hope the stewed fruit reappears. 12:50: Spice and leather. In the final third the spice and strength continue to increase to the point the cigar is not enjoyable. I finally put it down at 1:05. The last few minutes were a nicotine bomb and delivered the knockout punch...never had that experience with this cigar before. *Cigar had been stored at 63 F 58 RH and was paired with light, sweet coffee. Cheers! Bill 2
subport Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Nice one bill. Sorry to hear the end of it though. I went through a box this summer and never happened thank God. 1
luv2fly Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Nice review. Have not had an LGC in ages. Will have to put them on the too buy list. 1
Philc2001 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Thank you for the review. I wonder if a little more nap time might tame that pepper taste. I like this cigar, I have one stick left from a 2012 box and a new 2015 box arrived a couple of weeks ago from 24:24. I haven't had the 2015 yet, but the 2012 were quite good. I still prefer the Partagas Connoisseur of very similar dimensions, but since it has been discontinued the LGC and PL are going to have to fill the void. 1

This was the 4th from a fiver I picked up in a split last year. The first three were sweet to the nub. I think it speaks to the inconsistency in CCs. You gotta take the pits with the cherries I guess.Cheers!BillSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
eswary Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Nice review Bill, thank you! Love Black Keys as well, El Camino is awesome stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
JZBdano Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Thanks for the review. I have been wanting to try these for a while. Just need to get through a couple more open boxes in my winador before I pull some new ones from the storage cooler. There's always a spot for the long skinnies in my rotation, PLMC is the one at the moment. 1
