HoyoFan Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Hey guys, I'm smoking through Prez's robusto sampler, and tonight fired up the BRC. It started off medium body with some nuts and the first third produced a small amount of vanilla. Then the peanuts came. I've never really tasted peanuts in a cigar before. It was really an interesting experience. I have to say though that otherwise the cigar was just OK. I'm not sure if perhaps it would have benefitted from more time resting (this rested 2 months) but I do feel that at least either way I'm starting to figure out what I like. I'm definitely leaning more in the direction of HdM Epi's and RASS. Definitely the side of sweetness, chocolate and coffee. I'm curious what you guys have tasted in this cigar and as always any advice or recommendations you might have. Continuing to enjoy the ride. 2
Williamos Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I've got a fresh box May 2015. I smoked one when I first got it and it was awful. Five months in the humidor settled things down. I smoked another, with some trepidation last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Agree with you on the flavour profile. Lovely cigar.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
achiappetti Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I had singles from a box from another vendor OCT 14 and they continued to get better and better each time I grabbed a new one. It really is interesting in terms of flavors. Just received a new box from El Prez the other day. Im curious to see how they taste after a few months, especially since I am now trying my desktop at 60% rh. What I have love about all CC's is the change in flavors as the cigar burns down. They are just more interesting to smoke in my opinion. Thanks for sharing guys.

The other two you listed are pretty much complete opposite to "sweetness, chocolate, coffee"...but everybody is different...

The Epi2 can be very "creamy" but not that sweet… and the RASS has more ripe fruit flavours than chocolate or coffee… 1
dicko Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I personally find BRC to be the more medium bodied of the bolivars ive tried. For me they taste of barnyard, black pepper, earth, dark chocolate, leather and some cream. I dont find them particularly sweet more on the other end of the spectrum.Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk 1

Hurltim Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Among the others stated here, I would add graham cracker. I only had one hint of it but that was enough to get me hooked. Somebody here said they tasted like "a graham cracker dipped in sweet tobacco juice." I can totally see that if they have a little lay down time. I think they recommended 18 to 30 months down.
HoyoFan Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 Hmm in general it sounds like I might need to try one of these again with more age on it

Don't give up on 'em. Patience will be rewarded. If you want to enjoy something from the Bolivar line without the long wait I highly recommend the PCs. As an aside, since you're a fan of the Padron flavor profile... have you tried anything from Vegas Robaina? I think that brand may be right in your sweet spot. Unicos and Famosos come up in the 24:24 sales pretty regularly. 1

ShortFatHokie Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Vegas Robaina Unicos and Famosos are chocolate/mocha sticks...nothing like the Juan Lopez cigars I've had. But as I said, everyone's taste is different...
