This is actually only the second BBF I've ever smoked, and the first one was rained off after 10 minute, plus it was nearly a decade ago!

When I first got into cigars I was told not to touch Bolivar or Cohiba as they were too full bodied. I wasted so many years! The Corona Extra and Petit Corona are two of my favourite cigars!

So the too see if I can add another to my list of favourites.

I took a break from flat pack furniture today and ended up with a mattock digging up 3 tree stumps..some break!

The sun has started to loose its fierceness so it's the perfect time to finally have a rest.

Quite a long lighting time, initially an earthy malt begins but then becomes quite muted.

Around a third in and to be honest this isn't hitting me with the richness I was expecting. It's dark and broody, certainly full bodied but it's flavour is muted. There's still the earthiness predominantly and a little metallic nature in the back.

Second third and it's on the same road still, some problems with keeping it lit and the wrapper is being lazy. No sweetness at all which really has surprised me, no coffee of any note, the main favour is still that earthy base. One thing to note that this thing is putting out nicotine like it's going out of fashion! I tried a Hamlet Corona a few days prior and while I could tell there was strength in them, it was underlying. This BBF is an angry drunk, it's around 25% flavour and 75% headbutt right now.

Finally third and the lighting issues have persisted. Humidor is reading find so maybe it's just a pissed off cigar! Again the flavour profile hasn't changed greatly. There are hints of what this cigar has to come but it's buried down deep. I keep getting a little spark of brown sugar, black coffee, bran, brown bread, but soon as it appears, it vanishes again. These are something to lie down for a good 5 years. The ingredients are ask there it just needs to find itself, it's an angry teen at the moment!

88/100 this thing needs to finish high school, get a summer job and work on its anger issues for a few years. If you're looking for something to knock you about then fill your boots, I'm going to have a nap! :spotlight:

Nice review even if was not what you had hoped for. Interesting you pointed out a metallic note in the flavours. I experience this once in a while and it is not very pleasant.

Thanks for the great review Captain!  Sounds like that guy needs to do some hard time.  But, at least you got that peek to keep you thinking about him; what he's going to be when he comes out of solitary.
