Cep
Hi guys. I have a box of monte 3, some sticks have been ok but some I'm getting this tea flavor. Like dried black tea or green tea. It's the dominant flavor and not that good lol. Edit: I forgot to mention the ammonia that I also taste sometimes. Or at least I think that's what it is. This box is only 10 months old. Could it be sick period? Is it possible they will get better with some more age?
Corylax18
The ammonia is something that would be attributed to age. The "Tea" flavor you are describing is something that I have tasted in cigars of varying ages before, I dont think its age related. I like that flavor, but it sounds like you may not. Its impossible to tell exactly how a cigar will age, that Tea flavor may intensify, or it may turn in to something else all together. Tea is not something I have ever tasted in a Monte though, so I would say chances are good that those flavors will develop into something else. HIDoc
10 months is fairly young for montes. Perhaps it is in a sick period in which it needs to develop further through another fermentation period. A tea flavor is something I expect in a Hdm Epi 2, but certainly not in any vitolas in the monte line.
