Popular Post Orion21 Posted May 18, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 18, 2016 So this isn't the first thread congratulating Hamlet on coming to the USA and starting his line of cigars, but it is the first from me . . . Hermano, we have never met but I feel I know you through the cigars I have smoked from the Shaggy Foot robusto extras you rolled in Toronto to the Flying Pigs in Havana. Your cigars have traveled the world to the delight of aficionados everywhere and they have made countless smile with every puff. I will admit that when I heard you had left Cuba and joined Rocky Patel I was thrilled for you, but also cringed. You see I wasn't a big fan of his cigars, even though I had heard from my own Father-In-Law what a cool guy Rocky is. Also, work into the mix my extreme apathy for NC cigars and a little part of me cried that no more Hamlets would be rolled. I smoked my first Hamlet NC robusto two nights ago and I can say, with all honesty, I loved the cigar. Loved it so much I smoked a second and stayed up until 11 pm to finish it. I have not smoked an NC cigar I have liked, outside of Fuene Anejo, for almost five years! I was even predisposed to not like your creation just because it wasn't Cuban, but I loved it. I can only imagine the change you have gone through since leaving Cuba and I could taste it in your blend. I have read the story of how you created about 100 different blends and came back to the first blend and I can see the process. Blend #1 you poured your heart and soul into. It was your first attempt to create something with your name on it after leaving Cuba and I can feel that when smoking your robusto. Of course you would come back to #1 because it represents everything you went through to leave Cuba and set up a life in the USA. Smoking your cigars has been a privilege for the past five years. I am so excited to support you and your journey in the future. And not just because you are Hamlet, but because you make damn fine cigars! Congratulations! 16
