polarbear Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Following a Facebook thread late last week of a guy posting Cohiba Robustos for sale that were obviously fake, when I pointed out the main red flag was the quality of the bands and the fact that even in the poor quality photos I could see that something was amiss, the seller posted that all CC bands are printed in Cuba using antiquated machinery and expecting them to produce a product that was identical thousands of times a year was naïve of me. It got me wondering if this was actually true I remember reading a while back that most cigar bands are printed by a 3rd party outside of Cuba (especially the Cohiba Hologram ones) Can someone fill me in?
danny Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 From what I read somewhere recently, the bands were being made in Switzerland, if I'm not mistaken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Popular Post Ryan Posted May 9, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 9, 2016 A lot, if not all, of the new Cuban bands are made by Vrijdag Printing in the Netherlands. 5
SofaKing Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I am the official printer of all Habanos labels in my basement with a 1983 mac while playing Oregon Trail. 2
Benzopyrene Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I met somebody in Havana a couple years ago who told me his company did the labels for the Cohibas......I cant remember where but definitely Europe.....Netherlands sounds right and I'm sure Andy is spot on with that. Makes me wonder if they do all of the bands, or just some of them though. probably a good question for someone who knows an old Habanos executive that may be hanging around sometime.
