I have a friend going down to Cuba next week and I decided to stay away from the Cohiba to maximize value. I he has room to bring back 60 for me. Tell me what you think of my list. Also, is there any chances of getting fakes at LCDH in Santa Maria? He knows nothing about cigars, but I said he must buy them there. I am sending him there for the first 6 but will take the RA Club Allones, and RYJ if he cant find any of the others. What do you think? I also need to keep the cost down so my better half doesnt hate me. I have $600 CAD to spend.

Just got back from Cayo Santa Maria yesterday. The Lcdh there is good with a pretty good selection but no LE's or RE's. They say they put the order for for them but never come. So you will not find any RE S or RA CA. No Dip RE there either. They should have the others on your list. They do have HU Royal Robusto. The store has a fellow rolling customs just inside the door which are cheap. He rolls 5-6 different sizes from @ 38 ring to 50 gauge. I picked up 5 of the smallish ring gauge. Make sure you have him open the boxes to check for mold. The boxes I got from the Lcdh were fine but the ones from the cigar shop at Iberostar Ensenachos. One box they tried to give me was full of mold, and the bad thing I think she just put it back on the shelf.

I would get Connie As if you could get them cheap. Damn good cigars!

whoops sorry, wrong type stoke should be .... So you will not find any RA Superiores or RA CA. No Diplomaticos Excelencia Cuban RE there.

The HU Conn A are 228 cuc.

Would you take anything out of this list and add the HU Conn A instead? Like I said I want to keep it to $600 CAD - The RYJ Churchill are the most expensive here I think - can you recommend anything else to fill that spot?

i like the R&J churchill(I have a box) but I would rather have Connie As. It's up to you and your tastes. If you haven't smoked a Connie A you might want to try one and see what you think and then decide.

Edit: you have a good list, I'm just putting my opinion in there.

Do the Connie A come in 10's or only the 25's?

Depends what you have already. Your list looks good, they just don't have a couple of them at the lcdh. Give your guy a list in priority and he just works down it.

Thanks! I was thinking of adding Maduro 5 Secretos - how are these. I had a maduro before but I dont know the size I had. Enjoyed it though. Would you take anything out to add these?

Trouble with Cohiba, they chew up our budget quick. They are roughly 10.50 cuc a stick and the Monte 5 is @ 4.50 cuc. Both similar size.

Google cuban cigar price list which will give you a close idea what you can get.

LE is Limited Edition which has a secondary gold cigar band with black writing on it for year of release; RE is Regional Edition which has a secondary red cigar band under the name brand with the particular country (Regional) that the RE is representative or dedicated to.

HU Connie A is an H Upmann Connoisseur A. Hope that helps (a little!)
