Popular Post jwr0201 Posted January 2, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 2, 2016 This evening, I enjoyed one of the best cigars I've had the pleasure of smoking. It was a lowly little Monte 4 from Abr 14 and was superb. Everything was just right tonight. Skies finally cleared with a balmy 75 deg F with over 90% humidity. The Monte performed well, given the dampness in the air. Here in Sarasota on the coast, there is little light pollution, so the stars could be seen clearly. Even the few aircraft traveling over the Gulf at more than 35m ft were easily visible. I broke open a limited release of Cigar City's 110K-OT barley wine ale with cocoa nibs. Deep, thick, black at 10% alcohol. Slightly sweet and smooth stout on steroids. Strangely, this potent ale not only did not overpower the cigar, but actually brought out the cocoa and coffee notes. Wonderfully relaxing way to quietly enjoy the beginning of a new year. The Monte began smooth, light and mild. Shortly, subtle flavor notes appeared and then after a few quaffs of the ale, flavors went wild. Great starry night with just the right elements to make it memorable. I'm a lucky Dude! Think I will do this at least once a week this upcoming year! 5
zappaFREAK Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Even a lowly Monte 4 proves mighty at times!
luv2fly Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Some of my best smoking experiences have been with a Monte 4. Like I was decompressing from the tough day with an old friend. Corny I know, but true for me.
