Pulled out something a little special to celibrate Jeffs last race. Haven't alway been a fan but how can you not respect all that he has done.

This Monti 2 is for you.

I was lucky enough to work for Jeff at Hendrick's engine shop in 2000. He is a class act off the track also. I hope he makes an appearance at Daytona in 2016.

He made a lot of money for a lot of people, that's for sure. He came to Nascar right when it was on the verge of making the leap from a southern, regional novelty into a mainstream, multi-billion dollar industry. He was never popular with the older fans, but he was such an approachable face for Nascar as it began to explode in markets outside the south. The corporate money that flowed into the series made everyone rich, and it wouldn't have happened without a marketable guy like Gordon to promote the series. It's funny to look at the races and sponsors before he came to Nascar, compared to today. Much of that was inevitable, and was going to happen with or without him. But you can't deny his role in helping transform Nascar, for better or worse, into the behemoth it is now.
