JohnS Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 I'm bemused this week folks by the contrast in the careers of Quade Cooper and Sam Burgess. A year ago Sam Burgess was a South Sydney Rabbitoh Rugby League Hero, a year later he is a failed Rugby Union experiment. Quade Cooper couldn't get on the field for the Wallabies finals games in the 2015 World Cup, but his debut for Toulon this week was outstanding. I envisage he will be back in the fold sometime soon in Australian Rugby, he has been and remains a match-winner capable of turning the momentum of a game, one way or the other!

I envisage he will be back in the fold sometime soon in Australian Rugby, he has been and remains a match-winner capable of turning the momentum of a game, one way or the other! quade has suffered from injuries which derailed the career (plus some stupidity in the past, which fortunately does seem to be in the past). but it shows the mindless hopeless state of the hapless water buffalos stuck in the mud that run the QRU in letting him go. has any player been more influential bringing a super title to his team than cooper in 2011? not only that, his performances were so spectacular (yes, a few years ago but a touch of loyalty would hardly go astray - he showed plenty to the reds) that he put so many bums on seats, he dragged the franchise out of a diabolical financial position into the black. he should have been paid whatever he wanted and more. instead, we don't have a 5/8. morons. hope he blitzes it in toulon. i'm sure he will. and i still remain unconvinced by foley. good behind a winning pack but questions remain. burgess a class league player but there is a downside for souths. big hit for the salary cap and will push players out. no way that won't piss off some teammates. will hurt team morale. if he starts winning them games, that will solve a lot of that. he is a grub but losing luke issac will hurt. souths need GI fit to be a chance.
