Used to know a fair few places to get a smoke on in the windy city a few years back. Hear times have changed.

Heading up this week Tuesday through Friday, any thoughts where one can enjoy a fine cigar day or evening?

If you're in the downtown area, Iwan Ries on So. Wabash is still kicking. A newer place that's kinda cool is Biggs at 1150 N. Dearborn, a refurbished old time mansion.

Used to go here everyday after work when I lived in Chicago!! Great place. And you can go to Ceres bar across the way and get scotch in a "to go" cup to bring over to the cigar lounge. Just tip well ; )

Staying near Logan Square though will be getting to the Loop.

WIll definitely hit the Iwan Ries lounge and possible check out the Biggs Mansion.

Hoping I can find a nice patio (covered/heated) for after dinner.

Thanks all.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

Only made it to Iwan Ries, that is a great spot. Was fortunate enough to have a sheltered spot to smoke where we were staying!

I have been wanting to try out Tessa Cigar. I can't personally vouch for it, but looks interesting.

I am out in the burbs, so if you find yourself out this way, recommend Cigar King in Skokie or Cigars and More in Libertyville or Long Grove.

When I lived in the West Loop, I used to visit the store frequently... only because it was the only place local to my friend and I. The ventilation was poor. We would try to avoid the place during busy times. You couldnt taste your own cigar when more than a handful of guys were sitting there smoking their NCs. The owners are 2 kids in their 20's... I think brothers, but can't remember. They had a sign that stated no outside cigars, but we would just buy some sodas and pay 10 bucks a drink as a "cutting fee." I didn't care for the fact that many folks used the place as a hang out. Since it's BYOB, guys would bring women there to sit around and drink.

Thanks for saving me the trip! Sounds like a real dive after all!
