Shrody234 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 The Ramon Allones Robusto Corto is a 2013 Regional release for the Netherlands measuring 102mm (or 4" for us Americans) x 50 and also my first review ever. It's a short, stout smoke that has been my recent weekend go-to. I'm not usually crazy about the short robusto size, but the complexity of this cigar is wonderful and it's length is perfect for the daytime when my little guy goes down for a nap. Pre light & construction: Immediately, this is a nicely constructed cigar. There is only one small vein and the wrapper is a nice Colorado Claro with some slight oil. It's a densely packed cigar which somewhat worries me that it would be a struggle to smoke. The only flaw is a slight wrapper crack between the two bands. Cold draw: Tobacco and cedar. The draw is perfect even though the cut confirms this is a very densely packed cigar. First third: Right away there is spice on the lips and tongue followed by an elegant vanilla flavor. This little guy is full bodied out of the gate. After a few minutes the spice subsides to a nutty cedar note which is followed up by the vanilla. The draw is perfect and produces an ample amount of smoke. The burn is razor sharp, but required a small wrapper touch up at one point. Second third: The spice has completely left and I'm now at a med-full body. Now appearing are some lovely citrus notes along with vanilla and leather. This is where the cigar performs at its best. The balance and depth of flavor is exactly what I enjoy from a CC. The burn is not as tight, but in no way takes away from the experience. Final third: The spice has come back slightly and the vanilla and citrus has been replaced with cedar and toasted nuts. A nice ending to a very nice cigar. Final smoking time was 50 mins. The flavors change nicely and definitely kept me interested the entire time. I almost wish this would last longer. Overall, I give it a 92/100. I believe these will get better with time, but I enjoy them immensely right now and would recommend them to anyone. Like most Regionals it does not fall in line with the typical flavors of the marca, but that's not a bad thing, especially in this case. Thanks for the contest Rob! 2

Boss Hog Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I really enjoy this particular cigar. Great complexity.
gianmarco Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I smoked just one of them and I enjoyed it very much. BTW it seemed a real RA to me, but probably one stick it's not enough to say...
