smk819 Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I just got some 8-9-8 Varnished, and when I was putting them away I moved what I thought was the last of my older ones. I noticed that it was about 5mm shorter and seemed to have a ring of 46-48. It was also much darker. They all came from CZ so there is no question of authenticity, I can't figure out what it might be. Any guesses from the board gurus? Rob?
El Presidente Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Merry Christmas mate :-D 5mm variation is a relatively large variation of length but certainly not rare. As for Guage it can be all over the place. We measured a Rass Friday at 52 guage and another at 48 all out of the same box. Both were excellent but it stood out as soon as you opened the dress box. The rest were fine. All it takes is a rollers off day and the quality inspector taking a nap or popping out to the bathroom. Bloody annoying but bloody common
El Presidente Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Then again your dog may have chewed the end off
SoCalSmoker Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 » Rob, is it possibly an 898 unvarnished? That's what I was thinking.
