So the last week I've been in bloody Union meetings. I hate unions. I can't describe them with the correct words suitable for this forum. Anyway they decided to go on strike for 72 hours. So I changed over to night shift and there was three of us running the plant which normally has 16 operators, 7 casual labourers, 4 maintenance staff, 3 shift electricians and 3 shift supervisors. All three of us were running around like mad men. Been a rough few days.

Now the workers are back I handed back the plant to them, and am siting back with a sweet coffee and a partagas short. Colombian beans, one sugar and "milk". You don't get full cream milk out here. Just UHT carton milk

This ones from a seconds pack. No idea what's wrong with it. Pres does some great deals for us Aussies! I haven't gone through too many party shorts. I normally stick to monte or bolivar short smokes. This is quite nice. Not quite the partagas profile though. I think prefer the d6 to the short. Of the few samples I've had anyway.

My aim is to make this a three cigar rest of the night. I've got 3.5 hours till the end of shift.

The party short is finished.

My radio battery is flat. A good thing too. So much "wala wala" on the radio. That's Bambara for "chit chat". I wouldn't think "kick mill one in the guts mate" is such a hard thing to say. Can hear the roaster ID fan and blower winding up. You know it's turning on when all the power dims as the power house tries to soak up the 8MW of spinning reserve required for them.

Next cigar to be set fire is the king of the world choix supreme. Another seconds pack cigar. This one has a bit of a busted head. Still perfectly smokable! Perfect construction otherwise. Smoking this with a tonic water. Apparently tonic water has some chemical in it to stop mossies biting ya. The anti malaria beard is all the protection I need though :P **** photo.

I haven't smoked a lot of erdm. I can't remember the last one I smoked. This one starts out mild. Toasted tobacco and bread character coming through.

Every time I see a picture you post of work , it makes me think it would be a great opening scene in the next 007 film...maybe a staring role for you as the super villain biggrin.png

Enjoy the third smoke!

Really found myself fond of the toasted tobacco on the ERDM CS, enough to spring for a box and split a few with some buddies. Nice mild smoke.

Coming to the start of the last third. It's changed into something else. Not sure what. Maybe nuts? Perhaps that's just the cyanide gas from the plant? There's not a lot of places in the plant is smoke. In one part you get nice lung fulls of xanthogens. Probably not good for you. In another part you get hot calcine dust (500 degrees C) mixed with sulphur dioxide. It's great if you want some sulfuric acid acid in you lungs. And in another part you can inhale some sweet cyanide gas. That's definitely not good for you.

Im smoking on the stairs behind an office block. Luckily the wing is behind me and blowing all the gases away. A slightly better photo.

to get the actual effect you will have to drink an extremely large amount of tonic water Mus ...sure you can do it...Unions ..brain dead losers to harsh for the forum .lmao.gif

Well it didn't quite go as planned. Had security issues in the gold room that needed attending apparently. What they expected a Metallurgist to know about security cameras and RCD's, i do not know. I did play the game and waffled on for a bit as if i knew what i was doing. Playing some tennis now, then smoke another cigar later on... not sure what though, will see what i feel like later on.

Yeah, they no longer use large quantities of quinine to make tonic water. Some even use stuff that simulates the taste of quinine, instead of using the real stuff. Another use for quinine is to help ease or prevent leg cramps.

Had a bit of a hit of tennis this morning, and after the cleaner cleaned the room, i got in and grabbed my cigar stuff and had a smoke. Decided upon the Bolivar Belicosos Finos. I can't remember having one of these ever. This is another one from a seconds sampler. Again, nothing wrong with it.

The cigar was quite mild i thought. Maybe my taste buds are just shot. I heard BBFs are heavy hitting sticks. This certainly was not an example of that. I actually have 10 BBFs from a box split of HQ's. Im looking forward to comparing these. Flavour wise i found it a bit sweet, with a lot of a shortbread biscuit character. Had the characteristics of a bolivar PC, but without the strong chocolate and ground coffee flavours i get from the BPC.

I jsut finished showering and shaving (trimmed the anti malaria beard) and am about to go to lunch. Gott stay awake for a few more hours before going to bed early tonight. Should be good as gold to return to day shift tomorrow.

I'm thinking about lighting up another cigar after lunch. Will see how i go :)party.gif
