Well in my case, black. Black as charcoal. I'm still reasonably sure this is just a lump of charcoal with a shiny band on it. This is a God Of Fire Serie B Double Robusto. It's been my white whale ever since i bought it back in 2012 it must have been. Honestly, it scares me. I mean look at that colour!!!

I'll be smoking this this evening and posting notes. THe cold draw is chocolate mud cake. No ****, sweet as hell chocolate mud cake!

If anyone else has a white whale they've been holding on to and not summoned up the courage to smoke it, go on, do it! Post up in here if you'd like. ok.gif

I've already smoked mine but it tooka while to get to it.

Like yours, mine was an NC, a Camacho Triple Maduro. Once I smoked it, I wondered why it took me so long! The outer wrapper had a barnyard smell to it, the foot, chocolate cake and on smoking it, it had an initial saltiness which evolved to toasted bread and Nutella, almond and more chocolate. Fantastic cigar IMO.

I thought a "White Whale" was a cigar you'd been in search of but are yet to find?

Using your parameters, I've got a couple Opus X in strange sizes that I've been meaning to smoke (Opus Shark, BBMF)

Don't think I'll have to time to burn one this weekend but I'll get to them eventually

Luckily, Opus X are one of the few NCs that age really well

Yeah i couldn't quite find the right title for the thread, but whatever.

The La Aurora Preferidos are very expensive NCs (Dominican I believe). Imo the Emerald is the best of the series as well as one of the best NCs out there. I just love the format and the blend. I bet that you will enjoy this very much, let us know after you smoke it.

Wonderful cigars, got a Sapphire in my collection and have thoroughly enjoyed the Ecuador Preferidos. Beautiful NCs.

So here I am sitting with my cigar nemesis. It's been sitting in my humidor for a few years. I just haven't summoned the courage to smoke it. I'm scared of it. Don't know why. It just looks scary. I described it in the London watsapp group in a manner I can't quite repeat here. I like the brand, God of Fire. My favourite non Cubans in fact. Shame they are so pricey. This time when home I packed all my non Cuban cigars and my odd stick Cubans to bring to site. A lot more cigars than I thought.

Cold draw was sweet. Chocolate cake as said before. I light this cigar and it brings back memories. Memories of how I found FoH. It was this cigar in fact... I'm pretty sure. I bought this cigar at a local B&M. Locals know how much of a price gouger my local retailer is. As I walked out of the store I thought to myself "there must be another way!" And so my online search began.

The cigar starts off quite sweet. The first few puffs were the same as the cold draw. Sweet. It morphs into something stronger. It taste like Ghanaian chocolate. Strong. Not too sweet. Quite nice. It paired with water, I think a sprite would bring out something else, but water is all I have. I began searching the net and found online stores overseas for cigars. My first ever box purchase was a box of God of fire carlito churchills. Found a beetle in it. Threw away 2 sticks as they had remnant black dust falling out of the foot. Then moved on to Cubans and found some YouTube videos of some blokes with an Australian accent. Thought to myself these blokes are weird!

The cigar has no progression. Same flavour throughout. It's nice. It's good. Is it great? No. A relaxing smoke none the less to end a day of work. After finding FoH and buying my first few boxes that was it. The downhill spiral of budgeting mi-goreng meals began. From then on all my purchases were from the vendor we all know and love. Well maybe not love, but he's a good bloke none the less :P

It gets hot to the end and that's it. Game over. A strong wind start blowing, out here in Mali it means only one thing. The rains are coming. As I finish writing this the heavens are opening and its pissing down. Shouldn't have been so scared of this thing.

LordAnubis - I like your taste in television, even if I have no idea what you are talking about with the cricket and all! Out of curiosity, do most non-US B&Ms carry non-Cuban cigars? I just assumed everywhere else was all Cuban.

The wrapper on that cigar Mus tempts me to think that it looks more 'oscuro' than 'maduro'. It's interesting what you say about sweetness, apparently the darker the wrapper on a cigar, the sweeter it tends to be. I smoked a Liga Privada No.9 Toro a few months back which had a wrapper as dark as this. I'm curious how strong the cigar was as I distinctly remember the Liga Privada had a lot of strength!

I'm with @polarbear, I thought it was one you couldn't find, but I totally understand your definition.

Using that definition, my birth year cigar, a single 1983 ERDM in a pencil-thin format. I'm scared to smoke this thing.

Nah not a lot of non-cubans in the B&M's i've been to in Aus (Perth). Vast majority is Cuban, but there are a few non-cubans around.

The Liga Privadas IMO are one of the strongest cigars out there

Most B&Ms in Sweden have a fair share of NC sticks. Padron, CAO, Rocky Patel, LFD, JdN, Davidoff etc are all popular here.

After your positive comments....

The La Aurora white whale (actually it came in a green tube) turned out to be a damn fine, perfectly cooked, tuna steak
