They should hang the person who killed that animal!!!!

various reports it was killed by drums set to protect the beaches or by a recreational fisherman.

what staggered me was that the report i saw had a lot of comments and they were running about 80% plus in favour of starting shark culls and so very much in favour of destroying the animals. tragic - not that i would want to be in the water anywhere near that.

the world is totally stuffed. i honestly believe that we are some of the last humans on this planet. in another 100 years, this place will be unrecognisable and we will have stuffed it.

I've always wanted to shark dive, but even in a cage seeing that thing would be scary.

I have seen reports where everyone on the planet could live in the state of Texas with a populatiin density of New York. I think the real problem is natural resources are going to be our main issue.

That and an ever increasing population.

Unfortunately (or fortunately which ever camp your in) nature has a way of controlling population growth, we are just short sighted in our assumptions of how nature behaves.

When it comes to large sharks in local waters here, I think the consensus among surfers, fisherman and shark patrols is that year on year the population is increasing. From the times I have been on local waters this year, I have never before seen that number of large sharks. Our popular fly fishing guide had his 6 meter Fly boat rammed by a Tiger Shark this year as his guest was netting a long tail Tuna. The shark as every bit as long as the boat.

large sharks don't bother me at all. They have their place. Yet I am thankful that out local patrolled beaches are netted.

Hi Ken,

what do they do with the sharks? Are they donated to science, sold at the fish market, make dog and cat food ?

Thanks
