Popular Post Ryan Posted July 30, 2015 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2015 One of the best series of articles on Travel to Cuba I've seen in a long time. Great pictures too. The author gained a lot of insight in two weeks in the country. http://www.pixable.com/topic/the-real-cuba 5
wabashcr Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Thanks for sharing. I just read through the Abandoned Sites feature. That kind of stuff fascinates me. Seems pretty dumb to take the risks he did, but it made for a very interesting piece. He's lucky he didn't end up in a gulag or something.

It's harder than you'd think for a tourist to end up in jail in Cuba. Though don't go trying to prove me wrong.. If you like that stuff specifically, there's a very good podcast on design called 99% Invisible. They often do bits about abandoned architecture. Here's one specifically on the International Art School dreamt up by Castro and Guevara when they played golf that time. It's brilliant. Worth a listen. http://99percentinvisible.org/episode/viva-la-arquitectura/
